Following medical school, he joined the United States Air Force Medical Corps, serving as the Director of Aerospace Medicine. After his military service, he was instrumental in the reconstruction efforts at Central State University following the devastating Xenia, Ohio tornado. His commitment extended into his civilian medical career, particularly during his tenure at the Family Medicine Residency program at Wright State Medical School/Miami Valley Hospital.
